Chairperson & Fundraising Coordinator
(Una maestra y administradora escolar ya jubilada: residente de North County)
I recently retired as an English Language Specialist and Migrant Education Specialist for the North Monterey County School District. My background includes many years in District and Public School Administration including Special Education, delinquency prevention, parent education, and grant-writing. I have been a Royal Oaks Community neighbor since 1999. My volunteer work has included voter registration drives, emergency funds for farmworker families, translations, tutoring, and donation deliveries of books and toys to the children of our front-line essential workers. It has been an honor to partner in this work with DigitalNest and BookStorm, both groups are helping us bridge the gap between poverty and resources in North Monterey County.

Family Outreach Coordinator
(Una madre y Directora de Programas para Watsonville Law Center: residente de North County)
I am an immigrant from Mexico who grew up in Castroville, California. I attended schools in North County and currently have my children attending our schools. I am proud to come from a family of farm workers who have worked these lands. I currently worked for the Watsonville Law Center as Chief Programs Officer creating programs to serve the community. I’m a believer of alliance and solidarity for human rights, and know that it is only through direct communication and involvement of impacted community members in all capacities that a better world will be reached. We are a better community when all in our community thrive.

Technology Outreach Coordinator
(Una madre y una Maestra-Entrenadora de Technologia: residente de North County)
Just a small town girl wanting to help others. I have been an outreach coordinator for the Alisal USD, Technology Specialist in Gonzales USD, and Testing Coordinator for Chualar USD. Working with students is how I envision long lasting change for the future. I was a foster parent to two (now young men) that graduated from North Monterey County High School, our daily drives though the North County country roads is how I feel in love with the area, so we moved here and I have since wanted to improve our area. Working to catch feral cats, donating produce to a non-profit that aids those in need, and actively participating in the neighborhood watch groups, but my heart longed for more and I found it here with Cada Familia Cuenta, really aiding ALL families.
